6 Months Old!

I probably start every update like this but I can't believe Kayla is already six months old! Here are her stats and some of the milestones/things she does: (Some of it is just for journal purposes so sorry if it is long and detailed)

Weight: 16 lbs 6 oz. 60%
Height: 27.75" 80%
Head: 42 cm 35%

Yep, you guessed it, she is crawling. One week ago (when she turned 6 mo.) she wasn't quite crawling fully, she was doing what we call the hop, crawl, fall. She didn't move her arms very much and fell a lot. It has only been one week and now she moves her arms with her legs. I can't believe how fast she learned to do that! Here is a video of her one week ago:

Now here is Kayla's improvement one week later:

She is very strong. She loves to play on the floor with her toys and bang them on the ground or chew on them. She also enjoys sitting in her saucer and playing. She kicks her legs all the time. She sits up by herself while resting one hand on the ground. She loves to go from her tummy to sitting.

She babbles, sings (squawks and screams), and says ba, ma, and da usually repeated over and over like babababa. She smiles a lot and laughs often. She is ticklish and will laugh when we tickle her ribs and underarms.

Her hair is growing and is fluffy dark blond. She loves bath time and kicks and splashes like crazy. She likes to play with rubber ducky at bath time. She also loves the pool.

She is a very happy girl, doesn't cry very often and she makes us laugh everyday.

She eats baby food once a day but will begin two or three times a day now (that's what the Dr. said to do). She really likes it (we've just tried sweet potatoes and squash) and she is excited to try new veggies and fruits. She has a sippy cup and will hold it and put it in her mouth but when she drinks the water she makes a yucky face and spits it out so maybe when she starts drinking juice we'll try it again.

She peeks over the crib edge to see us. We love to see her little face popping up looking at us with a big smile!

With more strength and mobility the journey gets more adventurous but we are excited to watch our little girl grow and learn. Happy half birthday Kayla!
