October Part 2

Jeremy had a whole week off of school in October! So we took advantage of the time off and headed down to Zion for the week. We had so much fun hiking, watching movies, playing wii, hot tubbing, eating good food and enjoying good company. Kayla loved hiking and asked to go on a hike everyday. Avely was a trooper (as always).

Kayla hearing an echo for the first time. She thought it was so neat.

This is what most of the hikes turned out to be. Daddy holding both girls. I did carry Avely from time to time though.

Kayla could have thrown rocks into the river for hours. She liked to try different techniques...one handed, both hands, and the best...the granny throw. She would say "Let's throw a big one" or "Now, let's throw little ones". She also enjoyed finding sticks and either carried them or stopped on our hike and drew in the dirt. This girl loves sticks, dirt, rocks, and anything Mommy doesn't like her to play with. :)

A big thanks to my Grandma Murray, who I will always remember when I visit Zion, for
sharing her love of Zion with us and making a family tradition for our family to enjoy for years to come.
We had a great time with family and friends and are glad we could spend time together while we live nearby.

October: Part 1

October started out by watching General Conference together. Kayla loved her tent we made her to color in.
We pulled out the tutu's one day to figure out what everyone should dress up as for Halloween.

This is what most of the "Give Avely a hug" pictures look like.

Jeremy is doing this pose and Kayla is mimicking him...I wish I had taken a picture of him instead of Kayla!

We took a drive up the canyon and had a picnic.

Daddy and his girls
Avely wanted to play in the water like her big sister.
The colors were beautiful!

I know this wasn't the most exciting post but there is more of the wonderful month of October to come!

Where to Start...

When you haven't blogged for two months, it is hard to decide where to start. So here goes! September consisted of potty training, a quadrillion doctors appointments and endless frustration for a rash Avely had, getting settled back at "home", and lots of silliness for Kayla and Avely.
Avely at 5 months; slow down sister!
Happy girl all the time!
Kayla was glad to be home (although if you ask her where she lives she will say "Minnesoda"). She found her hats, etc. in her closet and over the next two weeks she dressed up several times.
Note the two pairs of sunglasses.
When Avely started solids I got out the small bibs and of course Kayla was the one who said "I need to wear a teeny tiny bib like Baby Avely." (And she is wearing Avely's hat too)

Found the winter stuff
One of the few pictures where Avely is actually smiling when Kayla is choking her.

Well, that is a start. I want to go into more detail but October was a big month and will take some time....stay posted!
